Welcome to Fragrant Aroma- One Mind, One Spirit, One Faith. This ministry is about helping each of us learn to go deeper with God. To live in the image of Jesus the Son and be sourced by the Holy Spirit. To become a sweet aroma to a fully surrendered life.
It is not easy in this world to get to this point. Distractions abound, life crushes in on us and we fail to live a life pleasing to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2 says, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.”
In the Old Testament the sacrifices God instituted with Israel were to atone for their sins, once a year. Eventually the people failed and began to sacrifice to other gods. Isaiah the prophet brings a word from the Lord to the people, “What are your many sacrifices to Me?” says the LORD. “I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fattened cattle; And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs, or goats.” Isaiah 1:11
The Psalmist tells us in Psalms 51:17 “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.”
We do not like to hear the word broken and contrite. The word broken makes us feel weak, or that we are not worth enough. The word contrite makes us feel guilty for the things we have done.
In the end God works through those that are willing to have a broken spirit and contrite heart. He can only begin to change you once you are fully surrendered to Him.
